UNDERSTAND OUR SHIPPING STRUCTURE

We live in the "Amazon Era"; an era where you can order a Blu-Ray copy of the awesome Danny Glover flick Gone Fishin' today and be watching it while sitting on your couch eating Funyons tomorrow.

We would love to offer that type of shipping service. Seriously, we would. One day we hope to do so, unfortunately right now it's simply not feasible.

Many people seem to think Barber Shop Window is some gigantic company with a warehouse of workers and countless resources at their disposal. That's not the case. Barber Shop Window is a team of 3 people.

That's it.

3 people.

These 3 people physically print every shirt (PLEASE NOTE: Every shirt/hoodie on our website is custom made, when you order a certain design in a certain size, we printthat shirt. We don't keep any physical stock on hand). These 3 people also physically pack every shirt and physically ship every shirt.

On top of that, the 3 of us also try to keep as up to date as possible with Customer Service inquiries, maintain a presence on social media, while also doing the myriad of other tasks associated with running a moderately successful small business.

Due to these factors, our shipping time is a bit longer than other online stores. We try to be as up front about that as possible with our customers, but we've found that some people still don't understand it. Thus, we've put together this little page to help you understand exactly how our shipping structure currently works.

Our goal is to have all items ordered from Barber Shop Window shipped within 10-14 business days.

I'd like to reiterate two points there. The first is business days, not calendar days. The second is that we said all items will be "shipped" within that time frame, not arrive at your house.

Here is the general setup of the way orders are processed with Barber Shop Window.

- Every Monday at 9am EST orders from the previous week are processed. We then take the orders and prep them to be printed (90% of our inventory is printed on demand, we keep very little physical stock on hand).

- From that point we then begin printing those shirts. The printing process usually takes a week because, as mentioned before, we are printing hundreds of shirts ourselves.

- The following week the shirts begin being physically packaged by us and dropped off at our shipping facility, where they get processed and sent out to you.

Keep in mind, this is a constantly active process done by 3 people. While shirts are being printed, the previous weeks shirts are also being processed for shipment. While all this is going on, we're also handling our own customer service and doing other necessary things to keep the business running ... all while trying not to drive ourselves mad with stress.

All of this is being done by 3 people total, so I hope that helps you get an idea for the work load.

Overall, we've found that this entire process takes 10-14 business days. Honestly, sometimes it's a day or so longer, because we're human and sometimes things run behind. We do our best to notify our customers when that happens, and we do everything we can to keep it from happening.

Do we hope to improve upon this shipping process in the future? Absolutely.

Do we hope to one day be able to offer the type of shipping services Amazon offers? Absolutely.

Right now however, those things are simply not feasible. Barber Shop opened in October 2011. We're still a very young company. All things grow in time, and we're no different.

When you support Barber Shop Window, you're supporting a legitimate small business. Three young guys who do this for a living, and are doing everything on their own. We're going to make mistakes, we're going to screw up, but we're going to do our best to learn and improve from those things.

The reason we've grown to the level we have is because of you, and the reason we hope to continue to grow is also because of you.

I hope this gives all of you a better understanding on the BSW process, and if you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact us.

Thanks.

- Ken
